Ministry Biography
The life of a servant of the living God is never an easy one. This proved to be true for Augustina Frazier. Although her life was definitely “no crystal stairs,” she forged on to make a better life for herself and her loved ones.
Born in the little town of Erie, Pennsylvania, Augustina Frazier was one of thirteen siblings (one deceased) reared by Edward L. Gibbs and Reaver L. White. Augustina attended public schools in Erie, Pennsylvania up until the 10th grade and completed her high school education in Detroit, Michigan. Her life changed dramatically when her parents separated after being together for ten years. She was only five at the time and had to help in raising six other younger siblings. Many of her older brothers and sisters left the home to pursue their own lives and live with other relatives.
At the youthful age of thirteen, the Lord began to sow seeds of ministry in Augustina’s heart even though there was so much abuse, pain and poverty in her life. To aid her in managing such a difficult life she participated in track and field at the Booker T. Washington Center and other community programs beginning at the age of seven. Augustina ran in the Junior Olympics several times, winning many trophies and medals. God had provided a way for escape.
If at all possible, at the age thirteen Augustina was put out the house on the streets because she refused to be sexual abuse again which brought on more obstacles and setbacks in her life that took a toll on her young spirit to the point that she turned to drugs and alcohol. Ironically, becoming a substance abuser was one of her greatest fears since she grew up in that type of environment. On her eighteenth birthday, a pivotal moment that changed her life took place. After a night of binge drinking and using drugs, she found herself lying in the middle of the street unaware of where she was or how she got there. The next day, a young man, who had been watching her from afar, witnessed to her and she received Jesus Christ that following Sunday. In May 1984, Augustina was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost December 1984 at Christ Temple Church. She heard the call of the Lord in 1990 but did not come forward until 1998 acknowledging the call into office as a prophetess but being gifted in pastoral, teaching and as an evangelist. In 1999, God gave Augustina a vision. The vision was about a “must need (John 4: 4, 34)” crusade. Jesus Christ saw a “must need” when he was lead by the Holy Spirit to go see about a woman in Samaria (John 4: 4, 34). Later on, she was ordained into the ministry August 5, 2000 at Gate to Glory Apostolic Faith Church.
Augustina’s academic accomplishments from higher education begun in 1996 with obtaining her Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry, with a specialty in Spiritual Formation, minor in Leadership Management from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2007. In addition, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Self-Directed Management from Davenport University in 2001. She is also a certified Professional Chaplain and completed her internship/residency training for two years at Sinai-Grace Hospital and Children’s Hospital.
Ministry position Augustina held were Professional Advisory Board for the ACPEEC. Director of Community Development Programs; Chairperson of Women’s Day Service, Accreditation Chaplain Pastoral Education (ACPE) Resident Chaplain, ACPE Intern Chaplain; Scott’s Correctional Facility Mentorship; Scott’s Correctional Facility Mother’s Reconciling Back to their Children, Detroit Rescue Mission Mentor Program for Girls from 9-18; Harbor Lights, Spread the Love to Families Mission, and The Skillman Foundation Youth Programs. Augustina also has been an anointed speaker for various women’s conferences, other conferences, prayer breakfasts, revivals, deliverance and healing services, and for other speaking events and held various prayer meetings, support groups, educational programs, counseling forums, and other programs.
Currently, Augustina is working on her PhD in Psychology as a Psychologist from Walden University, with the specialty in Organizational Psychology as a consultant and consultations. Augustina is also a full time Staff Chaplain at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She states, “God has graciously blessed her to learn more about her painful experiences by studying God’s word and attending college to learn more about the human side of a person to give balance to the body, soul, mind and spirit.” The Lord birthed into Augustina’s spirit the Total Man Ministry to minister to the “total person.” She currently developing a private practice in consultations called Association of Professionals, LLC “Passionate in Helping People” which is now registered with the State of Michigan as of December 2010.
Augustina Frazier established Augustina Frazier Ministries International (AFMI), Inc., in 2003 and was registered May 2009 as a 501c3 non-profit corporation incorporated under the State of Michigan. She also host her own LIVE radio broadcast called “Ministry for (4) the Soul” at WLQV Faith Talk 1500 AM, www.faithtalk1500.com (streamline) on Sundays at 3:30 pm, www.sermon.net/augustinafrazier. Currently, Augustina is hosting “It is a Breakthrough” Crusade, which focus on “deliverance and healing.”
Augustina is now preaching in crusade services citywide, while focusing on going statewide and in the near future nationally. Lastly, she states, you have to follow the dreams, visions, and prophecies because the vision shall come to pass. “Write the vision and make it plain!”
